Thank you to all the brave soldiers and their families who are serving our country.
| About Us
My family and I live in some of the most beautiful country in the world, St George, Utah. We have three Missouri Fox Trotters; "Gem", (pictured above) "Annie" the ol' gray mare, and a four year old "Thunder" well on his way. Annie as a three year old was a world champion in the old style fox trot gait. All three of my horses are smooth as glass. I build leather stuff, and I build it to last a long, long time. My philosophy Fewer and fewer things are made to be used for long periods these days. Most things are so cheap we just use it 'till it breaks, throw it away, and buy another. My philosophy is to buy a good quality product, take very good care of it, and use and enjoy it for many years. It will not only last much longer, but will be a pleasure to use the whole time. Please read about my work My shop is mostly a custom shop. I do some production work, mostly for retailers that need items made but can't find the right product or quality or both, any place else. I do this type of work on a very limited basis. I simply can't compete with run of the mill products made outside of the U.S.A., and frankly, I don't want to. Therefore: Almost everything I make, I make as it is ordered, custom made for you and your needs. There are some things made in advance, but not much. Please keep this in mind when browsing around our site. If you need it longer, shorter, wider, whatever, just let us know. We can do it! My work is built to last! I build it to use day in, day out, drenched in horse sweat. For the most part, it's not fancy, I prefer simple elegance, but it is QUALITY! If yer' "20 miles back in", you want my leather on your critter. I do my very best to purchase American made products. (leather, hardware, tools, etc.) But sadly, it's not always possible to do that any more no matter how hard you try. That remains very important to me as I look for raw products to use in my shop. Everything I make is made by hand. I cut, I edge, I glue, I rivet, I punch, I stamp, I groove, all by hand. I use only the very best hardware I can find. Everything is either solid brass or stainless steel. Some buckles in the silver color are chrome plated brass. These buckles are not available in stainless steel. They will not rust however because they're brass. I don't believe in cutting corners when it comes to hardware. It's just not worth it! I use only top quality #135, #207, #277 or #346 nylon thread for all stitching. I backstitch four or five holes to insure a locked stitch. Most only backstitch one or two holes. I use bridle leather from Weaver Leather. This leather is the closest thing to "English Bridle Leather" I can find. (True "English Bridle Leather" is tanned and cured in England.) I choose to use this type of leather because it is tanned with wax's and tallow's that prevent liquids, such as horse sweat, from soaking into the leather. Bridle leather is not tooling leather. I have started making saddles and tooling some products such as water bottle holders and photo albums. For this type of work I use saddle skirting from Hermann Oak. Herman Oak is in my opinion, the best, most consistent saddle skirting on the market today. For our reins, I use Hermann Oak "Old World Harness Leather". This leather is supple, yet very strong. It makes a great set of reins!!!! I also use this leather for dog leads for the same reason as the reins. This leather just has a very nice "hand" to it. It just feels good in your hands. I also use Hermann Oak "Old World Harness Leather for some training bridles and working bridles. Our Pinch Collar is made of Hermann Oak Saddle Skirting leather. If you are looking for high quality, long lasting, totally hand made bridles, reins, breast collars, dog collars, dog leads and such, I invite you to take a look at my work. I hope you like what you see. Please feel free to e mail questions if you have any. Thanks for visiting our site!! My Guarantee to you: "Good things aren't cheap and cheap things aren't good." I have no interest in building products that are not going to serve their purpose and last you for years and years. Everything I build is absolutely guaranteed. Any problem you have with one of my products, I'll make it right with you. You have my word. Kent Forbush "Quality is remembered long after price is forgotten."
