The "Lifetime" RIC (Ring in Center) Dog Collar L to R all three colors with "150" buckles, Black-stainless steel, Chestnut-stainless steel, London tan-solid brass These ring-in-center collars are made with the same 12/13 oz. bridle leather as our horse products. They are stitched and riveted to make sure they don't fail. A big ring ( 1 1/2 inch) makes it easier to snap up that mutt when the Judge tells you to "pick'im up." Collars come with a 2 1/2 inch brass name tag. The tags are copper riveted on so when he takes off on you, some honest person will return him. Every other collar I've ever seen uses "jiffy rivets", or "split rivets", Not on our collars. We use only the old fashioned copper rivets. The same ones you will see on harnesses and other old horse tack. After making hundreds and hundreds of collars, I have decided to limit the buckle styles to just two. By a 99% margin, I make collars with what is called a "150" buckle. These simply work best. I had so much problem with the 147 buckle because the leather I use is just to thick to wrap around the center post. Hard to explain, just trust me. The other buckle I very seldom use is a "conway" and I will only do a double conway. These are the two that my experience tells me will work best. If you have a favorite, I will make anything you ask. I welcome your custom order. Prices may not be the same, but I'll try.
Hand made all the way. These collars are not the ones you see stitched all the way around. My theory is, "if you have to sew two pieces of leather together, you aren't using thick enough leather!" You probably haven't seen a collar quite like these before. Don't worry, they'll hold, and they'll last! *************PLEASE, PLEASE READ THIS BEFORE YOU ORDER A COLLAR******** SIZE: I need the actual measurement of your dogs neck where the collar will ride. Usually just behind the ears. Use a soft tape measure if you have one. If you don't have a soft tape measure, use a piece of string and then lay it flat on a hard ruler. We want the measurement to be snug. I make the collar for this measurement with two holes on each side for adjustment. You are buying a "custom" collar, please help me ensure it fits properly. TAG INFORMATION: The sole purpose for a tag on the collar is to let someone know how to return your dog should it become lost. They need to know three things; who's dog it is, how do I reach them, and what's in it for me to return this dog. I strongly recommend that you DO NOT put your dogs name on the tag. People are more prone to keeping the dog if they know it's name and it responds to it. I also advise against your address. Yes, there are whacko's out there. Once found, you are going to go to where your dog is anyway right? For the phone number on the tag, use your cell phone number if you have one. When you are out looking for your dog, you won't miss the call of the person who has found it. I made this mistake once and caused myself 5 hours of terror and a tank of gas looking for him. My neighbor had found my dog within 10 minutes after he disappeared and called my home number while I was out looking for him cause that's the one on the tag. Big mistake! The tags I use are limited to 4 lines of text, with 18 spaces per line. 18 spaces means 18 spaces whether there is a letter or number in that space or not. Example: John H Doe is 10 spaces. Debbie R Smith is 14. With all of this in mind here are two examples of good tag information. This program won't allow me to make it look as it would on a collar, but you can get the idea. line 1 - Debbie R Smith line 2 - St. George Utah line 3 - 435-555-1234 line 4 - Reward The tags are solid brass. I do not have silver or chrome tags as my stamping machine will not stamp that material, it's just to hard. Folks, I've been making collars for people for a long time, trust me when I tell you it's better to keep it short and simple. If you think I'm wrong, using some good drugs, out in left field, lost my marbles, or whatever, I will under great duress, and with much heartburn, put different information on the tags (as long as it will fit) If you think about it, I think you will agree; SHORT AND SIMPLE. Kevin Cook of Syracuse, Utah said the following about his new collars. "Just wanted to let you know the collars arrived and I wanted to thank you for the slip lead as well. I have had several dogs in my life and thus a lot of collars. I have ordered collars from a lot of places and even made some of my own in the past, but I just wanted to let you know that you make a fine collar, the best I have seen. Most collars have the brass rivets that after a while pop loose, especially on the name tags. It's so nice to have good ole' copper rivets holding things together. The quality of these collars is outstanding, not only in materials used, but the fit and finish is impeccable. You truly produce a superior product, not only in collars, but in everything else I have purchased from you!" Thank you for your kind words Kevin. I do appreciate your business. The "Lifetime Dog Lead"
After a lot of thinking, I have decided to offer our leads in Hermann Oak "Old World Harness Leather" ONLY. We have found this leather has become a favorite with our customers who purchase dog leads. This leather becomes very soft and supple, yet remains strong. We sell this leather 10 to 1 over the other leathers for dog leads. It just has a nice "hand" to it. I think you will agree with ma and many other customers. If you want one made of other leather such as English Bridle you can "custom" order it and I will be happy to make it for you. Kevin Cook of Syracuse , Utah said this about his "Old World Harness Leather" lead. "I left my lead on the toolbox in my truck and it fell down and wrapped around the axle and drug for several miles before I figured out what the clinking noise was. I un-wrapped it from the axle, rubbed off a few scuff marks on the leather and other than some scuffing in the brass snap, you cant tell the difference. It is one tough lead!" At some customers request, I have started making "tree leads". These leads are the same as our original leads with the addition of a floating ring and snap at the handle part of the lead to allow you to quickly and easily tie the dog to a small tree or fence post. All of our leads are at least 6 feet in length, but most are longer. I make them as long as the hide will allow. Color Old World Harness Med. Brown Hardware Regular snap or Scissor snap, Solid Brass, Stainless steel Size 5/8" X 6' + (I make them as long as the hide will allow, but they are all at least 6 feet long) (other widths custom made for you) Pinch Collar Finally,,, A Pinch Collar that really works!! Our Pinch collar is made of the best saddle skirting leather available. Domestic steer hides are tanned in the USA to exacting specifications to produce a stiff, tight grained leather. Our collars feature stainless steel roller buckle and dee ring, solid copper blunt end spikes, and solid brass eyelets. Nothing on this collar will rust! As you can see in the pictures, solid brass eyelets reinforce the spikes so they stay at a 90 degree angle to the leather. This is very important. If the spikes bend over and are not at a 90 degree angle to the leather, when the dog pulls against the collar he may not feel the spikes as much as he should. Another important thing our collars do is spring back open when pressure is released. Important because when the dog releases resistance, the collar needs to open up to stop the pinch. Timing is everything. These pinch collars are probably much different than the ones you have seen before. Kent Heather, Thank you! I try to be different from
the rest of the pack. It's nice to know someone appreciates that. Thanks for
your business!
Starter/Training Pistol Holster This holster fits the popular and top quality New England Firearms starter pistol. It should fit others as well but is designed for the "New England." I use either "English Bridle" leather or Hermann Oak saddle skirting for these holsters. I am leaning towards the saddle skirting because I can wet form the holster to fit the gun better. More snug fit. Plus I can do a border stamp or other tooling in the saddle skirting. I like to do something on the holsters to spice'em up a bit. Let me design and build one for you.
